On the 17th June from 7-9pm, Stephanie from EcoTogether Birmingham, and Robin from EcoTogether Bath will host an online training for people anywhere in the UK who are interested in starting a group.

June 2026 Update: We have proved that the programme works and helps people make changes and start staking action .

Since 2021 we have had around 40 groups and 240 participants in diverse settings; neighbours, friends, eco groups, faith organisations, small businesses, social enterprise, councils, supported living and social housing. Our programme has been self-organised by some groups, and run as a taught course for others. We have had great feedback:

"It's good to be able to come together with a group of like-minded colleagues...We're able to generate ideas for action that we probably wouldn't otherwise if we weren't in the group"

"Very good choice of powers ranging from individual to making a wider impact if wished".

"I've met members of my community I haven't had the chance to before".

"I enjoy the open environment to be able to discuss various topics and hear & learn from others. I like the list of suggested actions provided as this encourages me to think beyond the discussion".

Here are some examples of actions people have chosen, reflecting all four Eco Together powers:

"Increased my confidence raising climate emergency in conversation - set plan in motion for eco-themed updates via my local Facebook page, distributed info to the community on the recent solar panel group-buy, assessed some of my consumption patterns and come up with alternatives to buying new clothes"

"Committed to a weekly organic veg box, cut down on gas consumption, committed to solar panels, and no-fly holidays, contacted the council about unnecessary use of polluting equipment, felt braver about talking to people about environmental issues".

"I now turn off my stand-by devices at night. I pick up plastic in the street/pavement to keep it out of the sea. I joined a local environmental group".

In January 2024 we celebrated the first birthday of Birmingham Eco Together at Witton Lakes Eco Hub, with a talk, a tour of the Eco Hub by the architect, a birthday cake and lots of discussions and ideas. Thank you to all the attendees and volunteers who have supported the groups in Birmingham.

In June 2023, we hosted Eco Together Celebration event showing appreciation and sharing learnings from people who have completed the Eco Together course, and reflecting on how much we have achieved. Thank you to everyone who participated.
